FULL-TIME RURAL VICTIM ADVOCATE

The Rural Victim Advocate position is responsible for providing crisis intervention to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. This position is also responsible for assisting with outreach and providing awareness materials and activities throughout the counties we serve. Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred, but NOT required.


This position reports to The Bridge Executive Director.   

pRIMARY dUTIES

  • Provide crisis intervention, including support, safety planning, information and referrals.
  • Provide enhanced advocacy as needed.
  • Provide advocacy to victims who are involved with the court system, aid in obtaining protection orders, accompany clients to court hearings and offer options and referrals.
  • Assist with preparing and distributing outreach materials
  • Attend all required training sessions and meetings.
  • Maintain files and paperwork.
  • Assist the Executive Director in the on-going documentation, promotion and growth of our programs

eDUCATION & eXPERIENCE

  •  Capable of completing The Bridge’s crisis intervention training.
  • Have knowledge and/or sensitivity to the problems of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred, but NOT required.

  •  Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and frequent deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build relationships
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Deep commitment to The Bridge’s mission and values

sALARY & bENEFITS

  •  $35,000 - $40,000 based on experience
